Step 1: Choose the design

Use the accompanying software to choose the design. Set the printing mode based on the fabric used.

Step 2: Set fabric

Set the T-shirt or bag in the tray. Even beginners can accomplish this task with ease.

Step 3: Pre-press

Insert the tray into the finisher to smooth out creases.

Step 4: Print

Printing takes approximately two minutes. Just load and unload the tray - it is that easy.

Step 5: Fix the design

Basic Tips and Troubleshooting

Basic Tips

Preheat the finisher first. It takes longer than you think.
The R on the platen is the Top of the item.
Center by folding in half, then position the up/down by eye.
The entire garment / piece of fabric must be contained inside the platen, so get it all inside. I’m told you can fit a yard of fabric under there.
Printer drivers and software can be downloaded from Ricoh: Driver and Software Download
iPad software is in the app store, look for Ricoh Design Software
The power cord to the finisher is a monster. I’d unplug it when you’re not using it, just like an iron.

Troubleshooting

If it says the platen is the wrong size, cancel the print job on the printer (hit the Stop button, then confirm with the # button) AND cancel it on the software. Just the software isn’t enough, and turning off the printer won’t clear it’s memory.
If you’re doing something thicker (or have a seam that’s exposed) the printer may tell you to lower the tray. Hit the down button several times, then Start. Repeat until it prints. If you’ve hit the bottom and it won’t print, try re-hooping. When you’ve had to move it down, hit the Tray button when you’re done to reset the height.
Always close the door to the finisher. It will cool down (and keep beeping at you) if you don’t.
Don’t open the top door while the printer is running! It will shut down!
