Singer Superb EM200 Embroidery Only Machine

Bought this machine after researching online and was so excited to have my first embroidery only machine. It made it through one project, jammed thread under the plate, tension went off and kept breaking the thread, jammed thread under the plate twice more. I took it back to the store where I purchased it and it flashed 5 different problems on the screen and told us it was overloaded. They took it back as it was clearly nothing I was doing wrong and I bought a completely different brand. Such a let down.

Easy to use and lots of choices with hoop sizes

This is my first Embroidery Only Machine. My Daughter bought this machine for me as a gift last year in December. This machine like other embroidery machines do have a learning curve to it. Like all other embroidery machines there are quirks to work through. In order to use designs from other Brands of embroidery software you will need to use your PSW Software to down load the designs onto the screen and then save them to the USB Stick. This also goes for those who have or had own an older Singer embroidery machines and want to use those older designs. I recommend that you Do Not down load designs onto the Singer USB Stick. You can purchase another USB Stick to download additional designs onto it. I have purchase 2 additional USB sticks to down load my designs onto.
I use the 6 by 10 inch hoop to put a design on it and then embroidery the initials, or names on the items that I am doing embroidery on. To do this you tap on the hoop button in the menu and it will bring you to another screen. Click on the large hoop. This way you do not have to use the small hoop for the design and then put your material into the large hoop to embroidery the names. This step keeps you from having to multi hoop.
This machine comes with only 2 fonts. You have a choice of Block in 3 different sizes and Script in 3 different sizes. When they wrote that there are 6 Different Alphabet Choices this can be very misleading.
One other thing to bring up is how to place your spool of thread on the spool pin. There are different styles of Spools of thread. The spools that come with the spin tops on them you will need to put them in backwards on the spool pin to keep the thread from getting tangled around the spool top and breaking. I do not use the netting due to the thread gets tangled in the netting causing the thread to break.
When the over heat symbol light comes on and the machine shuts down wait until the machine comes back on. Press start to continue doing embroidery. When you finish doing the embroidery then you will need to remove the plate and clean out all the small cut threads and the thread lint from inside your machine. You will be surprised on how fast your Embroidery Machine can get dirty. Depending how much embroidery you do will determine how often you need to clean your machine. If you do a lot of embroidery I highly recommend you clean your embroidery machine out every other week. This will keep the machine from over heating.
I enjoy doing embroidery with the Singer EM200 Superb Embroidery machine. The stitches come out beautifully. I do not use the colors that the manual shows. I choose my own colors for the designs. I have embroidered plenty of Bath towels, Dish Towels, Bath Robes, Back Packs for children, Jackets that some were light weights and others that were Heavy weights along with numerous T-Shirts. This machine handled all of this with no problem. I recommend that you use the Sticky Paper when doing those thick and heavy items which will not fit in the hoop. You put the Sticky paper in the hoop, tear away the paper part and then lay your item onto the sticky paper. This will hold your items in place while doing the embroidery. This machine does it all including doing embroidery designs on Quilt Squares before you sew the squares together. I had put my Singer EM200 machine through a lot and one year later it still works. I am Very Happy with my Singer EM200 Embroidery Machine.

This is an embroidery only machine by Singer. I am familiar with the embroidering process as I have a different brand of embroidery machine. I wanted a bigger hoop size and a machine that had a better hoop that was easy to install and hoop the fabric. This machine has all that. You can resize, move, and edit your design. It also has a neat feature that will stop the machine and allow you to cut your leading thread before continuing. When done stitching out your design - it will also automatically cut your top and bottom threads for you. It has a tracing feature to show you where your design will stitch out and also a basting feature that will baste down your fabric if you are not hooping the fabric or are stitching on a towel and need to baste down your stabilizer. My other machine didn't have this feature. You can also download FOR FREE singer's software program that will also allow you to transfer designs to your machine via a USB stick. Once downloaded, just create a folder called MY DESIGNS inside the program folder, and you can download all your purchased and downloaded designs into this folder. From there, just simply copy to your USB stick, and put into your machine. Select the USB stick from the panel, and your design will appear. This machine is also quieter when stitching then my other machine. I am very satisfied with this purchase. Fast delivery, great customer service!
