I'm sure this machine was made well in the past but that has changed. This machine was very cheaply made and it would not last. In addition, some of the extra stitches don't look as they should and there is no way to adjust them. The bobbin winds okay with a tall spool of thread but it is very uneven with a shorter spool. The zig-zag width can be adjusted but the other stitches have only one width. I returned this machine.
It was not what i had thought. I wanted to get the activation code so I could design my own templates but instead it was just 25 predone designs most of which I will never use. I did find the rhinestone starter kit but had to order it from England since they were one of the few places that had it and weren't charging $150.00 for it
Response to the 1-star review:
"You are more likely to get hit by lightning than to own a Riccar R25P with bad suction."
I am writing this specifically to address the individual who left the 1-star review for the Riccar R25P Premium Pet Upright.
To write an honest review on any piece of equipment, you first need to actually know your item and understand the true value of what you have.
I’ve owned my R25P for years, and it is an absolute powerhouse. Everyone is entirely entitled to their own opinion, but having a personal opinion and actually understanding how to operate a specialized piece of machinery are two completely separate issues.
Look, we all know the laws of nature. Any manufacturing line on Earth can produce a rare defect—even a brand-new luxury car can occasionally be a lemon right off the lot. That is just how the world works. But I would willingly gamble my life savings on the fact that if your R25P isn’t pulling dirt from your carpets, it isn’t a product defect—it's user error. When a bad review is based entirely on pilot error, it isn’t a reflection of the machine’s quality.
This vacuum is engineered like the Rolls-Royce of vacuums. Just like a high-performance luxury vehicle, it requires basic, routine care to perform at its peak. Belts stretch over time—that is just the name of the game and exactly why they are called belts. Before complaining because you don't understand the equipment, check the basics:
1. You have a simple clog: You probably sucked up a sock, a pet toy, or a massive clump of hair that got stuck in the wand or lower intake tube. Pop the hose off and check it.
2. You choked the filters: This is the Premium Pet model. It uses a heavy HEPA media cartridge and a thick granulated charcoal filter to scrub out pet odors. If you don't swap these out every 12 bags or so, they will completely cake over and choke the machine's ability to breathe.
3. The safety features tripped: Riccar built a highly sensitive thermal reset safety switch into the machine to protect the motor. If you pack the HEPA bag completely full, ignore a massive clog, or try to run it on ultra-thick plush carpet without opening the suction relief valve, it will shut down to protect itself.
4. Worn-down brush strips: If your vacuum isn't cleaning rugs well, your brush roll bristles are likely worn flat. The brilliant thing about the R25P is you don't have to replace the whole metal roll; you just slide in cheap replacement brush strips.
Technically, you can't even buy a Riccar just anywhere. They are exclusive, premium machines sold through authorized specialty dealers.
If you are struggling this much, why didn't you just contact the local retailer where you purchased it? Those independent shops are there for a reason, they are always more than happy to show you how to actually "operate" and "maintain the vacuum".
There is absolutely no need to publicly complain about a premium piece of equipment just because you don't understand how it functions.
Honestly, go right ahead and buy your flashy, bagless cordless stick machine instead. If anyone told you that you can get real allergy relief from a bagless machine, they are a complete idiot.
Dumping a dusty, plastic cup directly into your trash creates an allergy-ridden nightmare. You absolutely must have a sealed vacuum bag in order to get true HEPA filtration that securely captures and traps dust, pet dander, and dirt particles.
Until you actually understand the advanced engineering, aerodynamics, and internal architecture of a machine like the Riccar R25P versus a cheap, big-box department store vacuum, then you are entirely wasting your time purchasing one.
Honestly, if you don't understand how it functions, you don't even deserve to own it.
Two years down the road when those cheap, unrepairable plastic clips on your cordless stick crack, the battery dies, and the machine ends up in a landfill, you’re going to wish you had listened to every single word I had to say, and I'll be the one with the same vacuum years later because I understood that the value of owning such a high performance machine not only means taking care of the engine, but means giving it alittle mechanical respect; while you'll be on your third piece of big-box plastic junk.
So, take care of a real, bagged machine, keep the air path clear, and it will out-clean and outlast the competition every single day. Mine is absolutely amazing!
Please be very careful with this company. I ordered the DIME Monster Snap Hoop and it was quickly deliverd. However, it was a used product that was broken. The box even contained the original sales receipt from 12/11/24! The product was banged up and had tape placed around the frame. When I attempted to attach it, my machine would not recognize it. After careful inspection, I discovered that the frame attachment was coming apart from the magnetic frame. When I contacyed the company, they had no idea how a used and damaged product was sold as new. I will never do business with this dishonest company again.
service is fantastic, The machine is great love it and it was a great price
Too long for any machine I own.
Love, love, LOVE this iron. It is easy to handle. It heats quickly, and it presses better than any iron I have used before.
I absolutely love my new Juki. It runs quietly and works like a dream. I had one before but a part broke inside and was not repairable. This was my replacement because I just am so devoted to the brand. I also appreciate the wonderful service from the Sewing Machines Plus team!!
Beautiful silver grey color that will go wonderful on many quilts!
I am still learning how to use my serger
I love it. I’m still getting used to using it, but I have not had any issues.
Packaging & Delivery were perfect!
I Love this Sew Steady Extension table🥰 Perfect cut to fit my Triump Surger! It’s a die for all your projects. Ladies & Gents; don’t hesitate to order❣️
I received it quicker than expected and set it up immediately. It's what I needed for my quilting projects. Now I can use my quilting templates and also work on my free motion quilting. It is so worth the cost.
They had the exact part for my older serger that I needed. Service was great! I will order from them again.
Loved the gift certificates! Used them both to purchase as beautiful quilted trolley to carry my new Flare embroidery machine.
Unboxed my new Flare embroidery machine. So light in weight and easy to assemble.
Stitched out a built in design on some placemats. Runs so quiet. Love my new machine!
What i like about the machine it came full equipped to sew. Thanks for including bobbins and machine cover.
The machine works very well . It was quite an adjustment to thread. I have used Bernina s since the 1980s. I have still not figured out the needle threader. One improvement i would suggest..a better light source.
Arrived in a timely manner and nicely protected in shipping materials! Thank you.
Getting 1/4 inch seams correctly was a major challenge for me until I got this foot.
Maybe this is a good machine, at least it was for the first week that it worked. Then the pedal stopped working, and we talked to SewingMachinesPlus for an analysis concluding that yes, the pedal had failed and they would be sending us a new one.
That was two months ago. Now when we call we are constantly told that the supplier is taking a while, they'll call when they have more news, they'll get us a tracking number soon, but nothing happens.
In the meantime we get emails from the customer care department asking us how we're liking our new machine, and would we like to buy any supplies that users often quickly run out of? If the people within a department don't communicate with each other, no wonder it's taking so long!
Might be a good machine, but I would recommend finding a different dealer!
