Just borrowed this machine from a neighbor to do some quick sewing. I am a beginner sewer who has not used a real machine like this since High School sewing class, which was many years ago. The manual is straight forward and easy to read. The bobbin is very easy to correct the tension if you read the manual. I encountered the same problem with the bobbin string being loose, but after looking closely at the diagrams, it was very easy to fix. Great product, lots of features. I highly recommend this product.

This is definitely not a machine for beginners like myself. I was really looking forward to sewing cute little outfits for my shih tzu and sewing my drapes.
I have done a lot of DIY home improvement projects on my own before, and it's very frustrating to me that I cannot seem to perform a simple action like pulling up the bobbin thread in this machine. Each time I pull the thread up, when I start sewing, it tangles.
Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing since I'm a beginner, so I would not recommend this machine to beginners, becuase the instruction manual you get with the machine is very vague also.

This is a good basic machine. The only problem I have with it is the bobbin rattles out of adjustment and start to ball the thread on
the under seam. While the machine can be adjusted, it usually wastes a lot of thread in the process and it can be very
frustrating if you are trying to finish a project. A guide on the bobbin to ease adjustment would help, currently it can be adjusted
but it is trail and error.
