General Features

Three Stay-Bright LED Lights.	There are lights on each side of the needle area and a light over the large surface to the right of the needle. This makes it easy to see your work. An lighted sewing area makes all your sewing more precise. Sewing is also more pleasurable! A well lighted sewing area reduces the eye-stain often caused by low lighting.
Automatic Needle Threader.	Low effort threading of the machine. Includes automatic threading of the eye of the needle!
Automatic Tension.	Auto tension ensures stable stitch quality no matter what type of fabric is used.
Top Loading Jam-Proof Bobbin System with Clear Cover.	The jam proof bobbin system has a rotating hook to ensure smooth, quiet jam-proof sewing. The bobbin loads from the top so it is easy to insert the bobbin. The clear cover makes it easy to check the bobbin thread supply.
Optimum Power Control.	The Optimum Power Control provides precise piercing power. Great when sewing many layers or dense fabric. The piercing power is the same no matter what sewing speed is used.
Drop Feed.	A lever lowers the feed dogs for free-motion embroidery, machine embroidery, monograms and button attachment.
Extra-High Presser Foot Lifter.	There are two heights to the presser foot lifter. The second height offers an extra 1/4 inch more clearance. This is needed when placing many layers or bulky fabrics under the presser foot.
Vertical Spool Holder.	In addition to horizontal thread delivery, a second vertical spool holder is on the back of the machine. It is specially designed for many of today's threads.
Self-Lubricating.	There is no need to oil the machine because it is permanently lubricated. No oil gets on fabric.
Warning Signals.	Audible warning messages alert the sewer for trouble-free sewing.
Aluminum Frame.	The aluminum frame is the internal skeleton of the sewing machine. This rigid support holds all the mechanisms in perfect alignment for perfect, skip-free sewing.
Redesigned Accessory Tray.	The machine's accessories are stored in the Removable Extension table. The covers for the accessory compartments have been redesigned as hinged covers, rather than removable lids. The covers are more secure and won't be misplaced.

Sewing Features

Electronic Sewing Machine.	Push button stitch selection. Stitch length and width are set to optimal settings automatically when a stitch is chosen. Settings can be changed as needed for your project.
100 Built-In Stitch Programs.	There is a large variety of stitches for construction, decorative sewing, heirloom sewing and quilting. You'll always have the perfect stitch for every project.
Built-In Stretch Stitches.	Specially designed stitches add strength and flexibility to seams. These are especially useful when sewing on knitwear.

One-Step Built-In Buttonholes.	Choose from 6 different one-step buttonholes. Buttonhole sewing is a one-step simple process. Results are reliable because the sides of the buttonhole are sewn in the same direction to prevent gaps in stitching or fabric distortion.
Exclusive Buttonhole Underplate.	This is a Singer system that sandwiches fabric between a lower plate and the foot to ensure perfect buttonholes on multiple layers of fabric. This is like a mini-embroidery hoop in which the machine feeds the attachment instead of the fabric. It makes buttonholes possible in places that most buttonhole devices cannot easily reach.
Programmable Needle Up and Down.	Select the needle stop position as up or down when the machine stops. It is helpful to have the needle stop in the down position when appliqueing, quilting or pivoting fabric. When removing fabric or picking up the bobbin thread, the up position works best.
13 Needle Positions.	Needle position can be changed for individual projects such as inserting zippers or cording and topstitching.
