So . . . I've heard about butterfly houses, but have not actually ever seen one. I think I did alright with the design. How about you?

Finished Project Dimensions

• 6" x 22"

Materials Needed

• 1/8 yard – light background
• 1/8 yard – tan/yellow plaid for border
• 1/8 yard – for binding

Scraps of fabric

• 6" x 7" – black (butterflies)
• 5" x 7" – med blue (house)
• 3" x 5" – dark-blue (roof)
• 5" x 5" – rust (roof trim)
• 3" x 5" – mottled black (house slits)
• 3" x 14" - light brown (vine)
• 2" x 14" - brown wood grain (post)
• 3" x 4" – purple (flowers)
• 5" x 6" – green (leaves)
• 4" x 4" - yellow, red, blue, purple (butterflies)
• 8" x 24" - strip of backing fabric
• 7" x 23" – scrap of thin batting
• Fusible webbing (light-weight)
• Embroidery floss – black and green
