Product Introduction

I'm sort of a realist when I'm drawing my designs and this iris had to resemble the old fashioned purple iris that proudly bloom along my limestone retaining wall. I think I accomplished my goal. The yellow beard on the outer petals was my final touch.

Finished Project Dimensions

• 6" x 21"

Materials Needed

• 1/8 yard - light background
• 1/8 yard - yellow print for border
• 1/8 yard - yellow print for binding

Scraps of fabric

• 4" x 5" - dark-purple
• 4" x 5" - meduium-purple
• 3" x 4" - light-purple
• 4" x 12" - meduium-green
• 4" x 7" - dark-green
• Six 1/4" x 1" - strips of yellow for beard on Iris
• 8" x 23" - strip of backing fabric
• 7" x 22" - scrap of thin batting
• Fusible webbing (light-weight)
• Embroidery floss - green
