He's a skier from many moons ago. His elegance lies in the many little appliqué pieces and embroidery details that bring him to life. It's not a pattern for beginners, however if you're confident in your appliqué skills, I think you'll master him just fine.

Materials Needed

• 1/6 yard - Light Background
• 1/8 yard – Stripe for Binding

Scraps of Fabric

• 2" x 24" - brown (front ski)
• 2" x 24" - blue (pants)
• 4" x 5" - brown (boots)
• 4" x 10" - blue (pants)
• 6" x 8" – green (sweater)
• 5" x 8" – white (hat, sweater, and diamonds)
• 5" x 5" – red (mitten, sweater, hat)
• 3" x 3" - flesh (face)
• 2" x 3" – blue (ear muff)
• 8" x 26" - Strip of backing fabric
• 7" x 25" – Scrap of thin batting
• Fusible webbing (lightweight)
• Embroidery floss: yellow, dark brown, red, white
