Miele S5281 Callisto Canister Vacuum Cleaner

The S5281 Callisto vacuum cleaner is manufactured at Miele's Bielefeld factory in Germany. Every effort is made to embrace the company's 107-year motto of "Immer Besser" or "Forever Better". Endurance testing in custom-built laboratories is an intrinsic part of quality assurance on all Miele vacuum cleaners.

Before any production process begins, all components are put through rigorous tests and subjected to enormous strain. More stress than you'll find in typical home use. In fact, every unit is put through a final quality test, not just a select few like one in every hundred or two per production run. Your home is not a testing ground! Only when all components, electronics and floor tools have passed each critical exam will the Miele brand name be bestowed on them.

Superior Air Filtration

Clean indoor air is an important part of the vacuuming process. Miele vacuum cleaners are known for their superior air filtration.

The Callisto has Sealed System™ construction, a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter and an AirClean™ filtering dustbag. The HEPA filter captures 99.95% of dust and allergens as small as 0.5 micron. By comparison, a human hair is about 100 microns thick.

The dustbag is made of 9 layers of electrostatically charged material to catch and hold micro particles. The Auto-Seal™ closure on the dustbag keeps the debris inside when the bag is changed.

Power.
The motor offers tremendous power for great cleaning! The Callisto vortex motor is developed and produced in the Miele factories in Germany.

Filter System.
The Active High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter captures and retains tiny, lung-damaging particles (including dust mite feces and pollen). It also uses the same Generally Activated Charcoal filter (GAC) that the Active Air Clean filter uses to absorb odors.

This filter conforms to the new stringent European filtration standard (EN 1822) which means that it traps 99.99% of all particles as tiny as 0.3 of a micron. A human hair is about 100 microns thick.

These filters are so well designed that they only need to be replaced after 50 hours of use, or approximately 12 months. There is also a convenient spot to write the date on the filter, which takes the guesswork out of when the filter should be replaced.

Dust Bags.
The Type G/N AirClean dust bag has an innovative, automatic dustbag collar. A plastic flap on the HyClean dustbag closes the bag opening automatically when the dust compartment lid is opened. When the dust compartment lid is closed, a part of the suction hose connector presses the flap open, allowing air into the dustbag.

This offers convenient benefits when removing a full dustbag and even when the dust compartment lid is opened. When the dust flap is open, the colored hygiene seal integrated into the new collar ensures a tight fit and prevents dust escaping past the collar. The dustbag can hold 4.76 quarts.

Parquet Twister Floor Brush.

The SBB300-3 Parquet Twister floor brush is used to clean smooth surfaces such as wood or tile. It has a mixture of polyamide and natural hair to ensure a gentle cushion. Surfaces are cleaned thoroughly with extreme care. It has a 90 degree rotation and is very agile at cleaning around obstacles such as table legs and in tight places.

Electric Powerbrush.

The SEB228 ElectroPlus powerbrush is an electrically-driven carpet tool with a 10-1/2 inch-wide brush roll. It has a floating head and swivel neck design. This powerbrush is ideal for medium-pile to deep pile carpets.

Wand.

The SET220 electric, stainless steel, telescopic wand provides power to powerbrushes and direct connect hoses.

Electric Hose.

The SES119 electric hose is required when using the Powerbrush.

Accessories.

Useful for cleaning upholstery, shelves, baseboards, and more, three integrated tools, including:
