My new 3160 QDC is just awesome for taking to classes. It is lightweight, only 12 pounds, so easy to take back and forth. So far, I have sewed, pieced quilt blocks, appliqued, and quilted with my new Janome. It was a great purchase! It has a table that came with it to add more room for sewing. It came with several feet, and is easy to thread too!
