I also love and recommend this sewing machine to anyone that is looking for consistency and dependability! I have had my 6600 since August of 2008, and have sewn 10 quilts, pillows, draperies, and more. I recently looked at embroidery machines, and they wanted me to trade my Janome 6600 in as down payment. I said, heck, no...I'll keep my Janome, thank you very much.

I absolutely love and recommend this sewing machine! I got it about a month ago and have used it everyday since then. It's done a super job with clothes, including zipper and buttonholes, a few tote bags and currently, a pieced quilt. It is so quiet, but yet such a strong horse machine. The Accufeed is awesome. Also, Sewing Machines Plus owners and staff, are super. I've been in several times and each time they are very nice and knowledgeable!

I have been quilting about 14 years now. In that time I have had about 10 machines. still have 4 of those. About a year ago after owning 2 smaller Janomes that I take to groups. I checked our the MC6600P out but felt it was a bit expensive. Then Janome came out with a bigger more advanced model (?) and they reduced the price of the MC6600P and I jumped on it. I love the size of the keyhold/pass though, about 9 1/2 inches. the sewing foot lift is in the back and does not get in your way in the keyhole, if you are quilting. My only grip is there is no audio signal when the bobbin is about empty. However, it is a dropin bobbin so if I just look once in a while I would not sew blocks with out bobbin thread. It has way more decrative stitches than anyone needs. I use the bridgeing ones for quilt binding. Love the even feed foot it is better than the one on my older Phaff who invented them. It is not a carry around machine weighting 40 lbs. or more I guess, but you can put the pedal to the medal and go on this old girl.

I have owned my machine for 1 1/2 years and have never been disappointed by it's performance. I have sewed silk gowns, tailored wool jackets, denim jeans, and all weights of knits and cottons with perfect stitches. The AcuFeed systen sews heavy fabrics beautifully. I love the automatic thread cutter and could never live without it. I think the machine was worth every penny. I don't think it has any competition in it's price range.

I agree with the reviews...it's a mack truck with style. I've had my machine for 4 years now and it's been worth every penny paid and then some. I do a lot of sewing here of clothing as well as quilts and this machine holds up strong even with layers of denim and corduroy on our pants and heavy coats.
The one slight disadvantage I had at first was the lack of a 'free arm' to make stitching sleeves a bit easier. I adjusted my method a bit and it hasn't been a problem since! Even on small doll arms and sleeves.
