4.5 stars if I could... one tiny...

I gave it 5 stars because this really is a wonderful machine but I would have given it 4.5 if I could. I've had it for about 8 months now and have used it to make small quilted items, some crafts, curtains, and simple (cotton) garments. Easy to use, relatively quiet, good lighting, intuitive, smooth, beautiful stitches and buttonholes. I think this machine would work for a true beginner, or a very experienced person because it's so easy and fun to use and has so many advanced features. The only negative (and this bugs me because I'm a tech writer by profession) is the manual. They must have added some information at some point and they forgot to re-number the pages. So, for example, it might refer you to page 22 for certain information, but you'll actually find it on page 23 or 24, etc. Annoying but not really a big deal I guess. I've owned 5 sewing machines over the years (a Singer, Janome, Bernette, Pfaff, and this Juki) and this Juki is my favorite.

I had waited a long time to buy a machine. A friend recommended the Juki; so I finally took the plunge. I am mostly happy with the machine. The needle threader does not work very well; very unimpressed with this feature and I was looking forward to this because of my aging eyesight! The manual is very well done and I had no problem learning how to use the machine with the manual.

I love my Juki. The stitching is beautiful and easy to control. There is even a setting for a quarter inch seam for quilting easily. I love the buttonholer, it is simple to use and makes beautiful buttonholes. Stitches are even in free motion quilting and the large throat makes it easier to quilt larger projects. . It rides right over thick material with ease.
The machine sews so easily that I am willing to try garments that I would have avoided making before. I did not think I needed many of the features, but they sure make sewing easier. The needle threader is simple to use and the thread cutter really saves time and effort. It is easy to thread and the manual is well written and easy to follow. I did use the DVD for initial set up but threading is easy and intuitive. It was definitely a great purchase. I am saving now to buy a Juki serger. I love the brand.

First let me say I gave the juki four stars because of the threader. I haven't been able to use it due to the fact it is bent and I have no way of knowing what to do with it. I am fairly new to sewing but have sewn on a Kenmore and this is far superior, in fairness the Kenmore is 19 years old. Of course it ranks higher than the Kenmore. I find it a lot harder to thread than the Kenmore also. I've not used the stitches or the letters. I thought I'd try to take a class but so far have not. I have made baby blankets and crib sheets for my Granddaughter and had no problems.
I'm sure if I had a lot of experience sewing I'd be enjoying it more. With practise and time I hope to be able to make at least one quilt. I do find it daunting that some can take a new machine they have never used before and start creating something within a few minutes. Hopefully I'll do that someday. I will say SewingMachinesPlus is a great company.
Love my Juki

I wanted a machine that was smooth, functional, and not too expensive! I was looking at a Janome that was comparable across the board but after looking on sewing machine plus' website I found this machine to meet my price range best!! I love this sewing /quilting machine. I love that it's very easy to figure out and everything makes sense on it and I can't believe how well it sews. I only do quilt piecing and quilting so this is a great machine to up my skills with. I am learning the free motion quilting and am so glad I won't have to rent the long arms anymore! They kill my back.
The representatives I spoke with on the phone were great, I got it quicker than they said, and Sewing Machine Plus has the best prices .

I just love my new machine I have had it 3 weeks it is wonderful the room it has in the throat area is great. I love all the features and all the different stitches. The feet that come with this model are great. It is so hard to put in to words the fun I have been having with my Juki. I have made several baby quilts and a wall hanging and table runner in this time with this machine. I just hate to have to go to work each day because all I can think of is what I could be creating on it today! I know it seems like a lot for the machine but it is worth it. Spend the extra $50 to get the bonus package the work book is great in helping you understand all the features and you get the extra needles and bobbins too.

I have had my machine for just a couple of months and love how it performs. It feeds wonderfully, no more strain on my back. I have used it for making baby quilts and the different stitches are wonderful for finishing the quilts. I have also sewn some apparel items and am pleased with the performance. The machine is easy to use and the instruction booklet is very helpful. The machine is worth every penny. Because of the machine I have fallen in love with sewing all over again. I was reluctant to order a machine online and wish there had been one in my city I could have seen first, for that reason; I would love to show my machine to anyone in my area of the world.
Nothing better under the sun!

Just upon opening the box, the quality of the materials is quite impressive! The extension table is HUGE compared to the ones I've used before. It is solid and sturdy, and the little feet under it are rubberized enough that unlike others it doesn't slide all over the table!
The machine itself is a hoss! It's big and tough and solidly made. It's weight is plenty to keep it stable and yet not so much that I couldn't port it around if I wanted. And it's absolutely stunningly beautiful! The body is plastic, but of good quality an has nice shine to it. The LCD screen lights up nicely and is perfectly sized. It's so unbelievably simple to use and set up that I was sewing on it before I ever opened the manual. The manual is one of the best I've seen of many many others. Even the paper it is printed on is really good quality. It's simple and straight forward, easy to read and understand!
Keeping in mind this is just an initial review, I have only done a couple of minor sewing functions but here is my take on that: First off winding the bobbin is soooo easy! It literally does it automatically. Once you set the bobbin and pull the mechanism to it, it starts automatically without my pushing the pressed foot!!!! So cool! The needle threaders works PERFECTLY! I've had several machines that have auto threaders and they either are a joke or become one very quickly. This one is top notch! The stitch quality is as good as it could possibly be. And changing the settings on the stitches is literally intuitive.
I haven't even begun to look at the electronic manual yet (DVD), but I'm really looking forward to it! All in all, I can completely sum up my entire initial impression in one sentence. With the ONLY exception being computer connectivity, or automatic embroidery functions that high dollar machines offer; I could NEVER be convinced that ANY machine out there could be better at all!!! I have tried and inspected several, and I could not justify ever spending more on any brand of machine unless it has a whole LOT more functions than this Juki JEM! And i know for sure that any that offer more functions and features, are several TIMES more expensive!!! I could not possibly be more happy, or more impressed with this machine! Provided it does in fact have the quality and endurance that it appears to have, (and only time will tell), then I am a Juki fan for life!!!!

I began sewing on my machine 45 minutes after I unpacked and assembled it! The directions were very easy to follow - I was able to thread the machine and bobbin with no problem. I love the assortment of stitches the Juki F600 has - and look forward to quilting many quilts on my new machine!
Best machine I've ever had!

I've owned almost every brand of sewing machine out there and almost bought the Janome 6500 a few weeks ago; but this machine by far oustshines and outperforms even the Janome for less money! The machine is so quiet and there is little to no vibration even when sewing full speed! How many times have you fought with your machine to stay in one place while sewing a large project with long, straight seams?
The threading is a little different than what I'm used to, but the learning curve for this machine is easy to master. The stitches are consistent no matter what type of fabric. The thread cutter on the foot pedal is great, just be careful the first few times you sew, I accidentally cut my thread when putting my heel down.
I love everything about this machine and highly recommend it. The price at Sewingmachinesplus beats all other dealers, too!

This is an excellent sewing machine. It's very quiet, solid, sews really heavy weighted fabrics and multiple stacked seams with ease. It's very easy to thread and program. I had one problem with my model, the bobbin winder did not work properly. I contact JUKI Inc. Their rep contacted me right away with the solution. I was able to correct the problem myself, with their diagrams. JUKI gave me the option of making the correction myself or taking it to a JUKI dealer in my city, without a charge. I gave it a try, and the repair worked perfectly. I really enjoy this sewing machine.
What do I like about this machine?

EVERYTHING! The buttonholes are beautiful. I sewed my first one yesterday and decided the double stitched one was best for the pants. No disappointments here. I have used many of the decorative stitches on various garments. Although the alphabet isn't embroidery by any means, it is adequate. Quiet, this machine is in no way loud even at top speed. The control of the cutting and presser foot without hands comes in handy.
