Most Amazing Machine!
We purchased this machine as an upgrade, and what a machine! It is so user-friendly and it sews like a dream! So many great additional feet, built in creative options with the decorative and script stitches, and the extention table makes big projects so much easier! I have had mine for about a month now and have tried most of the stitches and most of the feet and I am so impressed with this machine!! I bought this machine to replace my trusty 30+ year old mechanical workhorse--I worried about buying on the internet but no dealer near me carried it. I worried about a computerized machine...I could go on and on. I LOVE this machine--you cannot believe the features it has for the price. I would put it up against the very expensive Pfaff machines my closest friends purchased for features and quality. The speed control is a dream, the machine is quiet, and the on/off button has totally changed the way I sew-haven't used the foot pedal in months. Just buy it, ladies--I don't think you will find a better machine for the price.

Just recently purchased this machine and have been sewing every day since I got it. It is a wonderful machine. I am just learning to quilt and it has been great. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out, is how to space over when I want to insert a new word when I use the ABC decorative stitch. Otherwise, I love it.

Bought this for my daughter (2nd machine in 6 mos). The first machine didn't hold up to her first K sz quilt project. She loves the thread cutter. After practicing on this machine, I liked it. The 9960 is VERY quiet in sewing mode, a little noisy with the thread cutter, but its o.k. It comes with a great quilting package. Very impressive economical sewing machine.

This is an update to my review I did in March. I have used this machine nearly non-stop and put it through all kinds of exercises. I love to quilt and the stippling turns out beautifully. I just got this machine for Valentine's Day and couldn't be happier. After sewing for 40 years with a foot pedal, I wasn't sure how I'd adapt to a speed button --well, it took me about a half hour! The additional light makes it very easy to see what you're sewing. This machine is an upgrade from my Singer Fashion Mate, and while I really enjoyed sewing on it--this machine leaves it in the dust! I've already used several stitches, and have put in button holes, but have not put in a zipper yet--can't wait to try it!

I purchased this machine for my wife for Christmas this past season. She makes many different style quilts and many items around the house like curtains, pillows, blankets and so on. She has a smaller machine that she has had for many years but I could see that she needed an upgrade. I searched the internet and many outlets and stores for a machine that would fit her needs but one that was not to complicated or options that she would not need.
After many hours of looking and researching I kept coming back to this model. The Quantum 9960 is all the reviews portrayed…very rugged, quiet, many useful options for her quilting and sewing needs. Once we went over the manual and some on-line information we were able to set up and program the unit for her needs. She loves the option of the speed control on the machine verses the foot controller and once she mastered the auto-thread and the auto thread cutter options that made it even better.
At this point she seems very happy with the 9960 and I was very happy with the price and the prompt service and delivery from Sewing Machines Plus.

I have been looking around for a new machine for a few years. I had a very small Janome Jem for about 12 or so years. It was good for what I wanted to do at the time. This past year, I started making quilts. My little Jem was not big enough!! I looked at the bigger machines that had all the fancy buttons and stitch patterns, but I just couldn't afford them. I just happened on to this website and decided to look around and that's when I happened on to this machine. I ordered it a couple days later and almost couldn't wait to get it!! I've had it 1week and I have finished one quilt, and finished a whole nother quilt top!! The stitching is great, the seams are so nice, and not having to waste so much thread with the auto thread cutter is GREAT!!! I love love love this machine!!! I want to take a vacation from work just so I can be at home sewing!!!

I really love the machines but I think they should come up with a CD to help you learn more on how to use it the book does not tell you much, and for me I am very disappointed in that you can not make your letters to in lager they are set and the are very very small and the decorative is the same way you can not enlarge them so it keeps you from doing a lot of what you want to do

had my eye on the quantun9960 and lad i brought it. the things that the 9960 does make it worth such the locking stitch, the stitch that make one flower or any other stitch the thread cutter, the extention table,start and stop button,
all those extra feet,believe it or not it sews heavy denim easy,the extra lighting(make it easy to see what you are sewing),these are the things that my 9940 didn't have. But 9940 did do many things also it gave me many hours of sewing but machine does so much more and for the money it worth every penny, i had gave up on singer and strated to buy the brother project 420 but so glad i didn't you surpass all of dreams if could it a 10 i would you that good.

I couldn't have possibly imagined how wonderfully this machine would function. Operation is SMOOTH, quiet and the controls are simple and explained well enough in the manual to get you started. A friend purchased a top-of-the-line Husqvarna at the same time I purchased this and I truly believe the Singer Quantum Stylist gives that machine a run for its money (at more than a fifth of the price!) with many comparable features and several additional accessories. The only thing I prefer on her machine is the organization of her storage compartment. I purchased a small craft container with adjustable compartments to keep all my extra feet and accessories tidy and accessible.
If you have any doubts because this is a deal that seems too good to be true, rest assured that it is every bit as good as it sounds. I wondered if the quality of the machine would suffer due to the price but its a solid machine and the extended warranty offers peace of mind. Now all I wonder is how I've been quilting so long without it and only regret that it took me so long to decide to buy the Quantum Stylist.

I must admit I took the machine out of the box with some trepidation as the Singer 9960 was advertised as having many features that I wanted but other machines I had looked at were much more expensive. I shouldn't have worried. The machine was easy to operate right from the start and has produced beautiful smooth even stitching on a quilt I am making. The computer program has an excellent instruction booklet. The accessories are numerous. The ones I have tried work perfectly. I think I'm in love!

It’s wonderful it holds the machine with the hard shell case and still has plenty of room to fit the extension table inside. I have already organized the entire case with my rulers and threads along with all the parts and presser feet that came with. The Singer 9960 Instruction book has illustrations & easy to understand and guess what it’s written in English. I LOVE all of the features on this machine, how did I ever live without them? Do you know there is a thread cutter button you can push, then the machine automatically trims the top and bottom threads leaving a perfect tale length. You can also sew by pushing a button to stop, start, needle up or down, speed up or down, etc. I absolutely LOVE this machine and learned it easily after using only my Kenmore for 35 years! I'm over 60 years young and if I can figure out how to use this machine to its full advantage, then everyone should be able too. I LOVE IT!

I purchased this machine 2 days ago and have not stopped sewing yet (well maybe some time off for sleeping). I have run the machine through lots of it's functions, including straight stitching including lots of layers, decorative stitching, automatic sewing without the use of the pressure foot. Buttonholes are beautiful and the easiest I have ever done; put your button in the slot, choose your button hole style and it is all done for you. The thread cutting feature is fabulous, I would have bought the machine just for that. And, the needle finishes in the UP position, what a joy. You are going to love this machine.
