The Singer® Futura™ CE-250 is a fully electronic sewing machine and computer linked embroidery unit. With the Futura, embroidery is a snap. If you can click a mouse you can embroider! Standard embroidery design software is included. AutoPunch software allows you to digitize your own images. You can download designs from the Internet or CD collections.
Each stitch is electronically formed with optimal settings to make sewing precise. There are 100 stitch options. Six types of 1-step buttonholes have pre-programmed stitch settings which can be adjusted as needed. To make life easy, eleven of the most common stitches have a 1-touch selector button.
Also included is an automatic needle threader and a top drop-in bobbin with a view plate. Drop feed makes free form embroidery easy. You'll have a needle up/down selector, twin needle control and so much more.
For embroidery, you have everything to get started. The CE-250 comes with 5 Windows® compatible programs. These will be installed on the home computer. Designs are available from many sources for your project. Use the software on your computer to layout and edit the designs. When the design is complete, send in to your Futura on the included USB cable. You are now ready to embroider!

"Before this, I would do some hoop embroidery manually on my old Singer Touch & Sew 750. Now I can do anything with cloth and thread on my CE-250. Very short learning curve, learning the adjustments for transferring pictures, but now with the simple Windows 7 interface, patches for my buddies are a cinch, did a portrait of my mom's face using the Auto Punch & Photo Stitch software and it looks wonderful hanging on the wall. Singer has done a great job creating this machine, as with all their machines. I don't know how they could make it any better. I'd say it only took about 10 hours to master, and now I can't keep up to the requests for embroidered items."

I had a Singer Quantum for years, and loved it, so I decided to get the CE250 because I wanted to embroider, sew and quilt. It's a great machine; lots of programmed stitches and very easy to embroider with if you hook up to a laptop. The only issues that I have are 1) it is noisy most of the time, even after being oiled and 2) there is very little room in the throat so it's difficult to manuver to change needles and presser feet. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.

This machine is fairly easy to use, even for beginners. The price is unbeatable by competitors. My only complaint is that it is noisy to sew with and the bobbin thread will tangle on occasion.
